Red Rock Women's Climbing Camp ~ October 17-20, 2013

For IFMGA guide Olivia Race, October means racking up and transitioning to the simple desert routine of climbing, traveling, and waiting for ski season. This year's venue for her annual 4-day Women's Rock Climbing Seminar is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The program runs from October 17-20, 2013 and focuses on developing the climbing skills of female climbers in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment.

The course curriculum consists of a mixture of short skill development clinics, sport climbing, and multi-pitch climbing.  Red Rocks is the ideal location for beginning and intermediate level climbers as its highly featured sandstone lends itself to remarkably moderate aesthetic lines in a beautiful setting. The program will have multiple female guides and can be tailored to a variety of climbing abilities, but is geared toward those with some previous climbing experience

If you want to arrive early and get in a few more pitches or tackle one of the longer classic lines at Red Rock, Olivia will be available for custom programs from October 11-16. As of August 29, 2013 Olivia has registered 4 women and has space for 2 more.  If interest exists the program could be expanded to 9 climbers and 3 guides, with groups splitting up for different activities to provide a more personalized experience.

Red Rock Campground
Olivia will be camping at the Red Rock Campground with space for all course participants.  If you are looking for more upscale lodging there are a variety of great places just a few miles from the campground.  Dinners will generally be shared in restaurants nearby, but the group will also have the option of cooking some family style dinners at the campsite. Breakfast will be available at the campsite each morning to speed our departure for each day's objective.
